How we did it: 

1. We formed up the external and internal corner stops for the cladding to butt into by fixing battens to 42mm x 42mm posts. Make sure you prime and paint all cut ends before installing. 
2. We then installed PVC cavity vent strips for ventilation using Dunlop 310ml Tile-All Plus Premixed Tile Adhesive as the glue. 
3. We used a 6mm masonry bit for pre-drilling before fixing the battens and stops to the brickwork with 7.5mm concrete screws.
4. For the window reveals, we used two vertical stops to ensure the reveal sat proud of the combined width of the battens and boards. 
5. For the window sill, we used a 187mm wide board, mitred and cut to maintain the fall of the existing brick sill.
6. Finally, for the main battens across both walls, we used 18mm thick primed H3 treated pine battens.
